Clique Arcade is an online marketplace that supports more than 100 independent Australian fashion brands. The marketplace showcases collections from established and emerging designers, and caters for fashionistas who are seeking an antidote to fast fashion. Individual collections consist of exclusive styles and short run seasonal pieces direct from the designer.

the challenge

Clique Arcade is the brainchild of brother and sister duo Ross and Storm Wyness. Their desire to support up and coming Australian designers led to a search for multi-vendor e-commerce technology where individual designers could manage their own online stores without investing in their own website. For those who already have a website, Clique Arcade provides another online outlet. While there are established marketplace portals that act in a similar way, the Clique Arcade team struggled to find a core technology that would allow them to fully access the source code and customise it for their needs.

our solution

To deliver the functionality for a multi-vendor fashion arcade concept, the system needed a two level structure. On one level the Clique Arcade site owner can manage the website as a whole including site marketing and inbound traffic generation, affiliate relationship management, site content and product category set-up, promotional banner management, secure payment gateway and on-boarding of individual stores. On another level individual designers can manage their own profile page, product pages, promotions and coupons, and social media sharing. Clique Arcade also features a fashion blog with guest contributor access for authorised fashion bloggers.

A big online business idea doesn’t have to involve enormous amounts of upfront capital, nor does a start-up have to employ dozens of staff from the outset.
